Black Capped Lory
I did another painting study of a bird, this time a black capped lory. I chose this bird mainly because of the vibrant colors on it, and I wanted to see how accurately I could get the colors to look in a painting of one myself. This was done in Daniel Smith watercolors with some Fabercastell watercolor pencils and prismacolor pencils added in in a few areas.
This bird's colors were an intriguing challenge, I think I'm at least somewhat happy with the end result. I'll definitely try to tackle painting more colorful birds in the future.Jul 14, 2023
