Draw your OC in STAINED GLASS ✨️
Thank you all so much for 100+ followers!
I knew I wanted to do a challenge to celebrate, and I'm currently doing a long-term project in a stained glass style, so I thought I'd combine the two!
For this challenge, draw any OC (one or many) in any composition you like: as long as it's a take on stained glass, in whatever way that looks like for you.
Drawing in a stained glass style can be time consuming, but is super, super rewarding - as well as just a whole lot of fun! I've done a few pieces on and off since 2019 and now it's one of my favorite styles for my digital work.
❓️ Not sure how to start? No problem! I learned from this tutorial: https://youtu.be/Wed6lb7IfK0
The above tutorial is for the software ibisPaint X, but there's nothing in it that I don't think can be achieved in other popular software. And don't feel you have to follow it to the letter! My own personal process is:
• sketch
• line art for main composition (thicker brush size)
• line art for divisions (thinner brush size)
• colors (go ham with the bucket tool)
• 55% marble texture overlay, 50% glass texture overlay, duplicate + blur lines by 2px
Just do whatever feels/looks good on your end.
Traditional art is also 100% welcomed! I'm not sure personally how to go about it, but there are tons of tutorials out there so feel free to just do whatever works for you.
If you would like more reference, the examples in the challenge image and more can be found in my "Stained Glass Pantheon project" collection.
I also have three speedpaints up on my YouTube channel: the latest video is a semi-tutorial with the bottom right piece on this image; and the other two are my very first stained glass pieces (from 2019!!), if you wanna see how I started. Playlist is here:

No deadlines, no winners, no rewards. I'll share every entry.
Happy drawing!
