to any of my followers that are college age or older, do you guys have experience transferring schools, and if so is it a good idea? im not liking my college rn and i lowkey wanna transfer but im tryna figure out if i should go with it

if you dont like your current school or they offer better stuff, do it. Ive transfered between locations been a student at 3 schools at 4 locations including transfering from community college to the universities and back as needed. done different methods at each school for classes such as online, itv, blended, exellerated classes, in person, split campus. it is a good idea to do whatever helps you succeed and get your money's worth. tour the new campus, put in an application, check the pricing compared to your current school, see the class offerings to make sure they have study courses/a degree you want, meet or write to a school adviser from that school and or the department head to see what credits will transfer. Cores will and a lot of classes that may not transfer to a specific degree due to class requirements for the major will count for electives.

Something to keep in mind is to make sure your classes transfer though. It was a huge pain with a bunch of red tape for me but I got it done. You have to stay in contact with the admissions office people and make sure you submit the right transcripts.

I transferred schools in my senior year and switched majors to a BA from a BS. Everyone told me it was a bad idea but I think it worked out very well for me. I actually am supposed to graduate earlier than I would have if I'd stayed at my previous school and major. If I'd stayed at HSU I'd probably still have depression and insomnia and would have to stay another year to complete a research thesis. At my current school I can graduate this semester if I don't fail anything.

Transferring schools literally saved me, I would not have made it through college if I had stayed at my first school. If it's possible for you to transfer, I would say do your research, and go for it.

At first I hated what I was doing (maths physics etc.) And I needed to change otherwise I would have gone crazy + the quantity of work required was INSANE I barely had the time to do anything other than school.
Changing majors and going to another college was so difficult at first the process took some months (plus it was during the year so) but I finally found another major and college that accepted me during the year.
I'm an English major and now it's like so much easier, I finally like what I'm doing and I find it sooo much easier to work and to have time to myself at the same time.
And now I'm at my second year of college and it has been going good for now <3
Of course you should really see the kind of college you want to transfer to, personally I was very lucky. But if you don't feel good where you are right now, you should transfer! Adult life is difficult, you're allowed to make mistakes and to try different things.
