@starlight's post on Artfol
Been going through a lot lately trying to figure out where I need to be and what I need to do
I need to make a living with my art and graduated with the notion I'd work for a big studio in games/animation, and now lean much more towards wanting to go into the card and gift industry?? It's weird changes, but my work fits better with card and gift I think, when it's not the detailed painterly stuff (which I still love doing and won't stop). Now I just need to do all the research on how to get an agent, and from what I can tell off the bat, that's a whole new world in itself
Yesterday I went into a hallmark paper store to study different products and what companies were liscensing art (besides hallmark ofc). Some companies let the artist attach their name on the back, and one sticker company even had the artists picture on the front each pack, which was really cool! I'd really love to someday get my name on products in stores vs being a cog in the machine, and I think I realize that better now. Yeah I won't get to design the coolest new characters for games and movies, but I can say "hey, I designed that sparkly unicorn wrapping paper, and my business name is printed on the label"May 3, 2021

Iβve always wondered,, do the artists on greeting cards also come up with the text that goes on the cards? xD I feel like if I were going to enter that industry the text would be so tacky fkdkfjjs
