I think Loriana would be the first to realize her feelings for Kass. At first, she was fine with their relationship. They've been best friends since they were kids and she wouldnt change anything. It was fine. Just keep doing what theyve always done.
Eventually, Kass' family moved somewhere else. Sometimes they'd visit and the girls would finally get to hang out again. They obviously missed each other, and do things they used to do/were nostalgic for. They have a great time and reaffirm how close their friendship is. In the end, Kass inevitably has to go back home and promises to come back soon. They hug and she leaves.
When Lori retreats to her room afterwards, she cries. They had so much fun hanging out. She was happy. That should be enough. She missed Kass so much. She should be thankful theyre even friends still. But it isnt enough anymore. She can't keep acting the same, pretending Kass doesn't make her stomach flip, her actions dont have any more meaning beyond being platonic.
