Don't only post art but also text posts, especially questions since more people interact with them (make sure to tag them with #question, but don't abuse the tag and only use it when you actually have a question!)
Leave comments on other people's posts as well. And reply to comments complimenting your art!
Follow other people - this seems obvious, but I've seen people follow literally zero people and complain about not getting reach. People on here aren't interested in those who only post their art and dip, they want to follow people who put in the effort of interacting with the community.
You can also hostand participate in challenges, but I think that creative challenges (like trashy_jpg's "create a creature based on your favourite food" challenge) do better than a simple dtiys if you don't have many followers yet
