Well, I was never into watching competitive sport, sometimes I feel like the odd one out…

I see people here talking about how great the anime Blue Period is but that was the most boring anime I've ever watched and I finally abandoned it in like episode 3 or 4 (tried to power through and watch it all but I just couldn't stand it). Also the show Interview with the Vampire, I only watched it because I saw people talking about it online and thought it might be good but 1. Hated one main character for his behaviour 2. Was also really bored at times 3. The end was super confusing and anticlimactic to me which might be because I didn't read the book it was based on, and the end was some sort of big revelation that I just didn't understand because I had no idea who one character was supposed to be and it felt like it came out of nowhere. I'm not afraid to say those things tho because my reasons not to like them are valid iml

Me with The Hobbit: There and Back Again. I heard it was the easiest to digest (but I would've been fine with complex purple prose even) so I tried it, going in expecting to see why it was exalted all over the place. I was completely bored out of my mind, couldn't connect with any of the characters and honestly felt excited only when Smaug was mentioned. I know I shouldn't knock it before I try it but I completely skipped reading the LOTR series. I'm not afraid of being flamed for it but people usually ask me what I read instead and when I tell them, they have no clue what I'm talking about and assume I have no taste, which pisses me off. I like reading fantasy novels from Chinese, Caribbean, Indian, Arab, etc. authors...they're interesting to me because of culture being woven in, out of the ordinary beasts, more complex magic systems, flowery descriptions (that don't appeal to vision and some other fantasy authors are afraid of putting in) and whatnot. There are some fantasy novels from Western authors I enjoyed but I find those are less popular

•Jupp. There are several movies, series, comics and so on that is very popular, but I just can't get into it. And I do really wanna talk about how I feel about them, but since they are so beloved, its hard to be the one nail sticking out. It really sucks that its become like this
