Māhū - “in the middle”

Just finished this for a quick assignment
We got to choose a group of indigenous people to get inspiration and make smth based on their art or culture!
I chose native Hawaiians and the culturally unique identity of Māhū
In the past they were seen as having both male and female spirits and were often teachers or shamans but in modern times it’s usually seen as a third gender identity or can refer to someone within the LGBT in Hawaii.
Does your country or culture have a unique gender/sexuality identity?
I love learning about differences of cultures and do tell me if I interpreted something wrong!
