If I had a snake I would feed it dead mice but with that being said some snakes will only eat or prefer to eat mice alive instead of dead frozen ones. It’s just nature sadly.

The snakes do need to eat, but i understand its super sad and you want to save it. So tell them to find other ways from now on, because they do have alternatives

Why not ask them to feed it dead prey next time? Besides being more humane to the prey, it's also safer for the snake, as a rat will instinctively defend itself, and might harm, or even infect the snake in the process.
