Then vs Now Doll Photo Challenge

Hello! I wanted to do a photography challenge for doll hobbyists! This challenge is to show off how your doll has changed over the years, either by age or customization! Rules: 1.) Submit a collage of your doll’s stock photo (or first photo you took of them), and a present picture! There are numerous apps that can do this, I used a free one called Adobe Spark 2.)Talk briefly about how they have changed and reminisce! 3.) No counterfeit dolls please, I am a doll artist myself and I don’t want to support what hurts other doll artists 4.) Any doll type can submit whether it is a BJD or monsterhigh or I etc! Update! 5.) You can submit as many times as you want! 🥰

Alessa Turns 10

Alessa is my oldest original character & first doll. She is an Asleep Eidolon Yara Jr. I purchased her at the Mint on Card (points to those who know what this was) store in 2011. I was drawn in by the innocent curiousity of her sculpt. She had an angelic quality to her just as the company name suggests. I still remember the words on her box "I come to myself only for you."

Despite her character and company's soft origins, Alessa's namesake comes from Silent Hill. In some of my darkest moments, Alessa's struggles in the game resonated with me. I kept that resilience in Alessa as a doll.

Now, 10 years later, Alessa has had numerous changes. Her sculpt has long since been retired. She's had 3 faceups, switched to a Minifee A-line body, and countless wardrobe swaps. But 1 thing remains constant, her piercing blue eyes.
