I actually noticed it before :D I also warned my friend years ago when we went to party and I drank too much. Told her to step away, because my mouth is watering heavily, I gone throw up in minutes. Saved her shoes xD

I guess the reason for hypersalivation is to protect the mouth from the acid pH of the vomit
