Hilde for @iff’s 40+ OC challenge

My first Artfol challenge entry! I was happy to have a good excuse to draw this glamorous lady, Hilde Mínervudóttir

Hilde is a semi-retired actor from Iceland, with a graceful and easy-going charm that hides a stubborn streak. She mostly channels this tough side into her love of hiking and climbing (inspired by my own mum who loves long distance running), and her relentless support of her kid Loren Hildebur, who she raised by herself. She’s also considered an adopted grandmother by Loren’s queer friends, thanks to her fierce allyship and Loren’s mum friend tendencies. I drew her in a pink glittery kaftan inspired by Cher and by one of the garments from the Great British Sewing Bee Christmas Special. She has a elegant yet eclectic wardrobe full of flowing outfits like this one she’s been collecting since she was a teenager: flowing dresses and bellbottoms, soft Fair Isle knits, sturdy knee-high boots and interesting jewellery.
