In y'all's experience, what is the best way to start monetizing art/animation??? Commissions? Etsy? Art shows? Fiverr?? So many options and I don't have much knowledge on any of them lolFeb 14, 2022

It does depend on your audience but commissions never hurt? If you want to make products but don't have the tech Redbubble is good too

"Best" is just up to what is best for you. Sometimes it just takes experimenting with a couple of things to find what works for you. For instance, I used to do commissions and dreamed of being a freelance artist. So, lots of deadlines and making art for a client. However, I discovered I found it insanely stressful to get things done on time (personally, I know plenty of people make it work for them). So from that I figured out "oh I don't want to make art by a deadline, I want people to pay for art I've already made". So I looked into tabling at a convention, which worked out great. However, from trying that I realised "Conventions usually happen once a year plus covid, I want to make money all year round" so I tried going for getting youtube monetised, which worked out awesome. Turns out I like earning money from my art ""while I sleep"" or passively, so soon I want to open an online store too. That's my story, you'll probably be different, my advice is just to try one thing you're interested in and see if you like it. You can always try something new. There are plenty of ways to make money with art
