I scan it. But, for photos it's best to start with taking the pic in diffused lighting like a cloudy day or using a diffuser if you have one (you can make them too; there's tutos for it). It captures the existing contrast and colors best in the neutral indirect light of a cloudy day and is usually not over or underexposed. From there you won't have to do more than raise the saturation and contrast a bit.

•Yeah I do, mainly to fix the contrast and lighting. As well as white dots and wonky eyes, depends on the artwork.
