VENT I GUESS

You ever see someone post a then vs now thing where it shows them from simple beginner to like extremely detailed and well made peice in a year and you just end up feeling like you improved at nothing?

Like that’s great that they improved so quickly but at the same time it kinda just makes me mad at myself for my art style not developing as quick as everyone else’s. Ya feel me?

Our art varies as much as our mental states, which is a lot. Some artists who are very stressed might even regress, but when they recover so does their art. I think it's helpful to just focus on what you'd personally want on your wall, and not compare your art to others, etc. (unless in a productive way). You have you reasons for being wherever you are. Eat/think healthy and do your best. ^^
I see where you’re coming from, but keep in mind that everyone’s art journey is different and unique! Some may take longer to find an art style they like or learn new techniques, and that’s perfectly fine! So long as you remember to have fun with it and experiment something new with your art every now and then (like perspective, an expression you’ve not tried before, etc), you’re well on your way!
I get it! But people who develop that quickly devote a LOT a lot of time to studying and improving their art, which not everyone has the time (or will) to do.
Personally I like to see my art slowly develop, it’s kinda cool. Each to their own, but at the end of the day you shouldn’t compare your progress to others’ as everyone is in wildly different situations and places with their art. Just have fun making it, that’s all you have to do :) It can be frustrating sometimes but just keep at it, I promise you’re improving much more than you think :)
