Grow Your Own Way
I started this early last year, right before I hit a wall art wise. The pandemic has been very challenging for everyone, and I personally found my anxiety and depression spiking. My OCD was suddenly uncontrollable, none of my usual methods of refocusing myself were working, and I found I was giving in to more and more compulsions. Essentially undoing all the work I’d done over the last several years, just to get to a manageable place mentally. So art was out of the question. I just didn’t have the extra space in my mind to feel creative with all that chaos up there...Seasons came and went before I even looked at my art again. But in the end I finished this, and others. I found my way back to it slowly. I felt my creativity retuning to me as I worked hard to overcome this newest mental hurdle, and finally started to sketch out new ideas.
I hope everyone else who is struggling out there knows that, it may seem like you’re losing everything these days, but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
