I’ve seen stuff like that on Twitter before, but I wouldn’t consider that a “diet art trade.” I see that more of making fanart of your friends’ characters!
The only thing I can think of that might be similar to what you’re looking for is Artfight! It’s an online, annual, art-trading competition that is held every July! You just start drawing people’s characters & they might just draw yours in return! Here’s more info about it!

It depends on the agreemt you 2 come to. My last art trade I let them choose one at random and they did the same (i dont have so my ocs anyways)
