GBBO Bake Along: Rhubarb and Rose Bundt

This week I made a rhubarb and rose bundt cake for the Great British Bake Off. I replaced the cinnamon in the recipe with 2 tsp. of rose water as my parents dislike cinnamon flavour. It turned out really good but it did taste a bit more like a turkish delight cake. I used fresh rhubarb from my mothers garden as well as she needed cut back a bit and I came back with double the amount I needed for the recipe.

I also made a sugar-free chocolate mousse for my sister-in-law as she can’t have very sugary foods. I think it turned out well but it was a bit bitter but the dark chocolate shavings helped a lot.

I’m starting off with some simple cakes to ease myself back into the hobby and plan to do a real show stopper somewhere down the line when I can really sink my time into it.Jun 15, 2021
