@islanddryad's post on Artfol

Had to make a post to IG and Twitter (I was chosen for a Artist grant so I was asked by the organizers to make a mandatory post about it) and just for fun I compared likes on my IG and Twitter (with 200+ followers) and my Artfol (which is significantly smaller in comparison) and I kid you not, some of the same paintings I posted on both apps have more likes here on Artfol than on IG or Twitter despite the fact that I have less than half the following here. If it weren’t for the fact that I know most of my IG or Twitter friends won’t bite the bullet and join artfol I wouldn’t just give up on IG and Twitter completely. It’s ridiculous how much IG, Twitter or even YouTube can throttle your outreach for no reason other than you don’t help them to make crap ton of money by being a nobody on their platform 🙄May 14, 2022

I agree but the problem is that here artists are in an artist bubble. To find serious work you need publishers, studios and clients to see your work and they are just not artfols target audience. Interaction is great and I absolutely enjoy artfol while insta stresses me but I know that potential jobs are way more likely to come over those plattforms. Its not the amount of interacrion but sometimes the who you interact with. But if this community here keeps vibing others will come with time. It just takes some years.
Yeah! here on artfol even when I had less people following I had more interaction than any of the other platforms ever.
I read once on a Twitter thread how some artist doesn't seem to be very convinced in joining artfol because is too niche and their art wouldn't get too out there like on big platforms, I think I get the point but you know here I a good place to start too and also have fun, worrying about always growing is not healthy either, but to each their own I guess haha congrats on being chosen!!
If it’s any consolation I’ve had the exact same experiences and I think a lot of other people have too. But congrats on the artist grant!!
