the "GET BACK TO WORK" and "How did you escape??? [Reffering to a plantation]" and "Where did you go? <when the lights go off>" jokes are getting out of hand
I really don't wanna be mean to these ppl at my school but I swear if I hear another get back to work joke I'm gonna lose it
But I do remember that violence is never the answer
[but they don't care if the principal tells them to stop it]
Like I get it, their joking and I can take a joke
but- there's a difference between joking and being disrespectful disguised as a joke

hug I'm sorry that you're having to deal with that. Humor always comes with a risk, and sometimes there are gray areas, but when it's clearly bothering you and you've let them know but they completely disregard you, that's way past any gray area. That's complete and intentional disrespect.

I hate people like that, like they’re clearly just being disrespectful and hurtful and just don’t seem to understand that they are because they’re just “joking”. I’d say some back with a serious response of “does it look like I’m laughing” or a “what’s wrong with you? You’re seriously making light of horrific events and practices” but I’m pretty sure that only ever works in the moves. The best I got is to just not react at all, give them no emotion or care and hopefully they’ll get bored and leave you alone.
