Illustration fills the whole page, has a background, fully rendered. Portrait is usually chest up pick, doesn't have to be fully rendered, character art is any art, sketch or otherwise that is like concepts, character pages or promotion of original character design. Not quite the same as general pics of an oc. Like some people have pictures of rando characters for design reasons that just look good, or have design art of an oc. Think of the purpose of this category as designing stage.
