What Easter Truly Means

Easter. It feels like it came so fast. Instead of posting the scripture that goes along with the empty tomb, I actually wanted to take out time to talk about why this day is so important for us Christians. You see..the whole point of Christianity is Jesus. Who He is, What He did. When He died on the cross, He took away the penalty for sin and allowed us to have a relationship with God. Shortly after His death He was buried in a tomb for 3 days. But after 3 days something amazing happened..He rose again! He defeated death, and made it possible for us to have eternal life with Him. So, without the resurrection, there is no Christianity. As Paul puts it in 1st Corinthians 15: 12-19, if Christ didn’t rise from the dead..then there is no hope. We’re still dead in our sins. We are lost, and we are to be the most pitied people on the earth. But..He did rise again. We do have hope, we have new life, our sins are forgiven..because He is Risen!! Now, please enjoy time with your family and friends..but let’s not forget about what this day truly means. Happy Resurrection Sunday
