Both are terrifying in their own right. The first one I find the most terrifying to me personally since I have terrible stamina and wouldn´t be able to outchase it. The second one in concept is more interesting for like a story. In the real world its more trickier. I think it would be scary if someone I knew and trusted turned out to be not who I thought I knew. But then again, how scary is something you cannot confirm nor deny?

Especially if you are already there in a environment full of enemies already chasing you nonstop. Silent enemies are always the ones that will try and kill you the most in games!

Both sound terrifying..
A monster that's constantly chasing you and you're aware of it means you live in constant fear, develop chronic stress and will probably go insane because of the fear it causes. But knowing that it exists means that you can find a way to kill it.
A monster that's silently following you but you're unaware of its presence is scary because you never know when it will strike and you don't know how to kill it. But it's no different to real life monsters that hurt people – The victims weren't expecting it. The only thing you can do is be prepared for the worst at all times.
