Lapisla and the Kitty DressMan, that's a cute dress design. A fun challenge! Though I didn't just want to use the exact design and instead decided to twist it into something a bit more fitting to whichever character I'd pick... And for some reason, my mind kept thinking of Lapisla. She has a cat and she loves dresses, so I could style the dress to match her cat! And also added poofy sleeves because she does love those. >u>
I don't have a lot to say here since it's just a random 2am doodle I did while listening to some YouTube videos. A very slow process since I kept just staring at the videos but I did eventually get this done! + I've never drawn her cat in a non-Pokémon form before but now I have! And I changed the cat's name from Väri (colour) to Hattara (cotton candy) because I feel it's more fitting. : p
(And if anyone was curious, the cat was originally a Shiny Meowth. I had Lapisla in a Pokemon/Harvest Moon crossover group seeeeveral years ago.)
But yeah. I don't think I've uploaded anything of her on Artfol before? So as a quick introduction, Lapisla is a naive and bubbly jeweler who lives on a volcanic island. She lives in an old shack that is in a TERRIBLE condition because it's her first time living on her own (I'm not sure how old she will be in her non-Pokemon story, but it's safe to assume she's closer to 30 than 20.) and she insisted on picking her own home instead of having her parents do it for her.
And well... The house has a leaky roof, creaking floor boards and peeling wallpapers. But she's convinced she can handle it! Just get some pretty buckets to put in the attic, some nice mats and wallpaper and curtains, A LOT OF CURTAINS. Yeah. She has no idea how to fix the underlying issues so she just kinda. Piles pretty stuff on top so you (and she) can't see the problems!
Some of the characters she's connected to are two opera singers, Mesme and Tallya, who have been Lapisla's friends since childhood. And later on, she befriends Mesme's partner, Lament, who is a composer, as well as Lament's oldest brother, Bolero, who is a blacksmith and lives on the same island as Lapisla.
Aaaand then Bolero just about has a heart attack when he has to deliver something for Lapisla and he sees the water damaged nightmare of a house she lives in.
It's a shame I never got to uploading that story to the Pokemon group. xD I sure had fun writing it. I should pick it up someday, I guess.Aug 23, 2021
