I don't like it if its the characters' whole personality, like they're snarky for no reason, although characters like Deadpool and Constantine are fine imo.
I do think its fine to use in pivotal moments, as long as its not excessive.

•I don't like profanity because it insults people of a certain religion (or sometimes several religions simultaneously), so I prefer when some letters in it are censored, so that I understand what is happening, without profanity actually happening. I would avoid comics or anything that has this content against my religion, and I would probably avoid it if discriminates other religions too. I like respecting others' beliefs as long as they don't hurt anybody, and viceversa I don't use my beliefs against others and I like them to be respected. I think that respecting each other beliefs even if they are diffierent is very important to let everybody free to choose what to believe without being forced or limited. Of course critiquing some aspects of a religion that are used as an excuse to discrininate against some people is ok and even welcome. But on the aspects that are just harmless personal beliefs about how the spiritual world works, I like that everybody is free to think what they want without being shamed for that.

•I think it really depends on the way it's used. If it's being thrown around every 5 minutes, that's a turn off for me.
I personally think they can put impact into lines. Swear words usually give off stronger emotions for me. Like, when you hit your toe into the table's leg, you might say "That really hurt! :(", but if you scream and swear it sends more feelings into it.
Or let's say a character who is always calm and never swears, but then they lose their cool, become super frustrated. Like they say "I'm sick and very/really tired of this!"
But if they say "I'm sick and fucking tired of this shit!" It makes me actually feel that.
I'm always trying to make the swear words appear only when it's necessary for the scene to feel more impactful. They're kinda like indicators that the character reached a breaking point

•Profanity like... Swearing? I don't mind it but it has to have purpose, be moderate and in case storically accurate. Just throwing swears around for no reason feels so weird and awkward. It feels like the writer is just trying to be edgy.

•I believe profanity can be an important element to a story to make it seem and be more realistic and relatable. Excessive profanity can make it be ostentatious, pointless and just done for the shock value. Personally, I don't mind swearing just as long as it is done with purpose. I have an issue when it's done mindlessly, I find it cringey. You can achieve a more powerful effect or make bigger insults without curse words.

•I mean. Chainsaw man is literally out there doing dad and gathered loads fans. But at the same time there are stories that are like that and don't well and end up just a forgetable shock value show(magical girl site). So I think its more of a case of:
Do the profanity/swearing/violence contribute with anything to the story telling?
In chainsaw man, Hellsing and Dorohedoro(the most violent and profanity ridden shows I have watched so far and that I can atestate to be good) it contributes to setting the mood of the story to something adult where instead of the characters serving as good examples to the audience, you, the reader/viewer needs to pick their personalitis and choices apart and make your own decision on wether or not like them, agree with them and/or support them.
But in these cases even the rottesd one needs have something likeable about them or else they are simply not interesting enough.
Lots of hyper dark shows don't even bother to do this and become either too revolting or just boring because of how saturated the darkness is.
Btw this is all just my personal opinion on Dark violent/profanous shows. There are some people out there who do enjoy those extra hardcore shows that are dark to the point of being bleak. But these are people I simply do not understand.

•I only have a problem with excessive profanity. If the swearing is minimal-moderate then I'm okay with that.
