@ril's post on Artfol

Consider this a part 2:

how are you guys so easily motivated?

My art always never goes past the sketching part and I always spend an eternity distracting myself after usually a small detail. It’s odd how I can sit for about 10 minutes on a guitar but I can get bored easily when expanding out the comfort zone and working on the limbs. Like stated in a previous post, The negative thoughts will never go away, break or not.

Should I take an eternity of a break or stick with something simple for the time being like portrait shots? I’ll never be able to draw what I want with these breaks, SHOULD’VE TAKEN IT SERIOUSLY EARLIER IN LIFE! ** you younger me

Also this is why I can never do complete works
i agree with what loosen_m and sammy01 said! and if you dont think it's good for posting/think it'll make your feed look weird, you dont always have to post it haha. another thing is that you dont have to worry too much about the stuff you know you dont like doing? like drawing hands. getting out of your comfort zone is good, but we need some comfort zone time too :)) dont force yourself too much. based on experience the best art always comes naturally without force. and really it's never too late to get into art haha, ive seen artists decide to start drawing close to their 30s and they improved really well too! you'll improve too with time :D just enjoy it and keep drawing what you like! also changing your art style/observing other art styles and incorporating them in your art is really good as well. no need to stick to one haha, not until you're happy with it❤️

and about how im motivated, i know that ive improved, and want to keep improving :D seeing old art, then looking at my art now and thinking about how it could change even more keeps me going ahah
Ok everyone here has way better advice than me and are 100% correct. But for me personally (since that was the first question :))

DON'T BE AFRAID TO BE MESSY!!!! Do loose circles, squiggly lines, random shapes, practice shading all over the place(IN COLOR!!) I use to feel like everything i draw had to be made for others to see. That everything had to be perfect. But it doesn't!

This really helps you be more loose with your work !

(Idk what you said in your last post so forgive me if you already do this. )
Because I want to improve and since you can’t really show progressions with just sketches or lineart I have to finish the entire piece :0 plus I really like showing finished artwork to my friends
I agree with Sammy, I know it's hard but you gotta get out of your comfort zone. It doesn't have to be for long, you can try drawing arms or legs or whatever you want to practise for five minutes every day. There are great tutorials for that, here's one that helped me a lot:
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLB5nUgozRxF-ak_GHT1_z9qrZ0Cp5ZTJi (they are multiple tutorials, you don't have to watch all at once. It's probably even better to watch like one per week and use the time between them to practise what you've learned from them)
If you only do what you can do, you'll never improve. It will look bad at first. But the more often you do it the better it will look
Try challenging yourself to get to the lineart stage. Even if you don’t like it. Now you can stop. Do this as many times as you need.
Challenge yourself again, this time adding flat colors.
Use this process to train yourself to stick with it
