This was my issue for the longest time. I eventually broke out of this by cleaning up the sketch and making it the lineart or making lineart a little messy and sketchy, even. Super perfect lines won't capture the essence in your sketch, is what I've learned. It depends on every artist and what they think looks better, but maybe you could give that a try!
(P.S. I adore your sketch. It's very stylistic!)
I had this problem when I didn't put the opacity of the sketch layer low enough, what also could be the problem is that when you sketch, you'll end up with multiple strokes for the same line (like here at the cheek) and then when it's time for lineart you don't know which "line to follow" and it looks different.
I sketch thinner then I line and I also try to have clean sketches to avoid that as best as possible.
I found just cleaning the sketch up and turning it into lineart as the best way to deal with that. I start sketching in the brush I use for lineart and then just start erasing and refining on the same layer! Might take a bit longer but feels more natural, like drawing in pencil to me. Dunno if that helps! 😅
Oh this happens to me. Honestly I’m testing out a method of embracing the sketchiness and not cleaning it 100% and it seems to keep that… nice expression or whatever.
