DTIYS Prize : VeraWell, here's the dtiys prize for @ulansprout ! I just love Vera's palette (because purple) and her lore is very interesting to me!!! She was very fun to draw, although i apologize if i made her unrecognizable or inaccurate-
When i saw Ulan's post, how could i not draw a character named after the deadliest typhoon in the world without a terrible weather in the background?? And that's what finally sparked the idea for this. Although the purple sky color makes it a bit inaccurate since that would mean it's the hagibis typhoon, not vera (but ehh let's ignore that for aesthetic purposes alright-) Vera gave me terrifying vibes, like an actual natural disaster, so i wanted to draw her in a more feral pose, but with the low angle it makes her look like she's flying so i just went with the standing up pose (makes her quite menacing actually) And don't look at the flame, i don't know why i added fire to the composition when i can't even draw it.
And if you ever wonder why i rarely draw fullbody or detailed backgrounds, THIS is your answer. My style turns into something completely different and unrecognizable... But i felt the need to showcase Vera's wing and the typhoon theme, so i just went with it (still hope it's good enough)Jun 15, 2024
