I’ve noticed a lot of people doing art vs artist, and it’s genuinely really interesting to see how people compare to their artworks! Many times, it seems as if their ‘vibes’ or their aesthetics match.
What are your thoughts on the trend? Do you ever see yourself participating in it? I would love to join, but my face is not for the internet to see ;-;Dec 11, 2022

I really don't mind it, but I dislike selfies, they make me feel uncomfortable. however, like someone said below, a self portrait is nice, but I'm unsure if I should participate or not

I see myself participating in it, but I value my anonymity and privacy so I will never be showing my face.

I like the trend, but I don't think anyone should feel forced to share their face. It's great for "big" artists who go to conventions, and have published stuff and have already shown their face. Lots of people just do a self portrait, and that's great too! I'm going to try this tend and I'm going to do self portrait for it.

Although I rarely show my face (whether it be in real life or in my drawings), I’m OK with it. I like to showcase the evolution of my art style as the years progress.

I think it's a fun little comparison! I had participated a few times already, but never showed my full face. I just don't know how to take pretty pictures of myself

I don't like this trend, because it means you have to show your face in public and it can be dangerous. I even saw someone post a photo of another person and claim it to be themselves, and worse things could happen.

It makes sense. An artist's style: their choice of subject matter, colors, shape language will translate into their visual appearance.
I mean sure, you get the occasional outliers who don't look like their art because their circumstances don't allow for fashion expressions, for example maybe they don't have the time to dress up but they like fancy things.
As for whether I'll post my face on the internet. Probably not. Maybe one day I'll settle down on a persona that I can use to represent myself.
