Sorry to hear that 
. The people who live behind me have chickens, and the people that live next door to me have some ducks, plus some wild mallards that have decided to just live with them and not be wild anymore, so I forever have a bunch of birds roaming my yard (which doesn't bother me; they don't hurt anything). But occasionally a coyote comes around and does absolutely unholy things to one of the neighbor's birds. And they're just predators doing what predators do, but it sucks
