The message: "No, you may not order the chicken and seafood combo platter. This is strictly a seafood establishment! Also, I'm sorry but we're out of Pepsi." 
If I remember correctly, isn't the legend that if you hear the sirens voice, you'll be under her spell and become her slave? I wonder if the written message is an act of mercy on her part. Maybe she likes him for some reason and doesn't want to enslave him. I dunno, just a thought.
