Art inspirationsI've admired a lot of different artists over my artistic journey, but I'd say these 6 are the ones that really stuck with me.

1) Minna Sundberg
She is a Finnish comic artist. Goshhhhh... I love her art so much. It's so unique; I don't think I've really seen another art style quite like hers. Her backgrounds sorta have a watercolor and ink feel to them. She just finished her long standing comic, Stand Still. Stay Silent early this year and is working on her next big comic.
I would recommend reading SSSS, it's a very good magic post apocalyptic comic with roots in Finnish and Swedish mythos and religion.

Her art aside though, Minna is a bigger inspiration to me in her decision to really focus in on creating Christian stories and comics.
Christian media as a large sucks, I will admit. There is very little good or substantial media out there that really reflects on the core values and beliefs of Christianity. Especially in the comic realm. As an aspirational comic artist, it's good to see artists like her.

2) John Singer Sargent
Particularly his sketches. His line weight and texture is fantastic and I love his representation of light and shadow and how shapey it is.

3) Hayao Miyazaki
Probably the most influential artist in my own artistic journey. I love his watercolor sketches and concept art in particular. Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki's art impacted me deeply as a young teen and launched my interest in art and story telling.

4) Peter Mohrbacher
Created Angelarium, a collection of "Biblically accurate" inspired angels. His depiction of angels heavily inspired the designs of angels, demons, and other supernatural beings in the comic I'm working on. He's very creative and his rendering is beautiful.

5) Devin Elle Kurtz
I use her digital brushes so much, haha. She has such good brushes that you can pick up on her website.
But I do truly love her art too. Her light and colors are so evocative and beautiful. Her art always has such a warm feeling that captures wonder and happiness.

6) Ron Koza
Ron Koza is a Polish artist. I've been following Ron for a long time, back when the majority of their content was Assassin's Creed fanart. I've always loved the way they draw characters; they're all so unique and interesting and human. I like how their art is sketchy, especially the line work, but the finished product is very polished.

Some other artists I've come across recently and really like but aren't necessarily personal inspirations:

Lèo Chèrel (cherelleo on Instagram)
Really good character designs that are just so fun!

Ainsworth Lin (apple_cork on Instagram)
He has really interesting characters with really good story and world development. He's currently working on "The Hedge Witch" which is a project I am very excited for.

Sydney Collings (symphony_sonata on Instagram)
Some more really good character designs that are really shapey. I like her rendering style
