A closer look at the sunshine wattles' leaves!Most wattle species don't have "true leaves" - instead the leaf stem (phyllode) is flattenned out into the plant's main photosynthetic structure! These stems are arranged pinnately.
(Pinnation is the division of structures from a single axis, to form a feather-like arrangement! See how the leaf stems protrude from the main stems? That's pinnation!)
Sunshine wattles, unlike most acacia species, have bipinnate leaves which go a step further. The leaves are arranged in a pinnate fashion, on top of the "stems" which are also arranged in a pinnate fashion! This is the structure being divided twice.
