“Personally, What part of art do you think makes it difficult and hard to master?”
This can be a process, a specific part of a drawing, or something about art you’ve realized you have a hard time with!

They say it takes 10000 hours to become a master at something, but with art I think it’s different. Maybe you’ll become a master at drawing eyes if you spent 10000 hours drawing them, but there is a whole lot more to art than just eyes, so really you’ll never master drawing, because out there there’s always something you haven’t really drawn yet

•For me is rendering. Having to create texture and everything to make a drawing that I like. Is really complicated for me

•For me, it’s the motivation to finish and push through the “ugly” unrefined phase of each piece. I get reallllly frustrated when things aren’t going my way initially

•I think a hard part is teaching myself to not be mean to myself. Thinking “I suck, I’m no good, I’m a fake artist, other people do so much better, I should give up” etc are very toxic thoughts. I know this is more psychological, but it seriously barricades improvement. Compare how far you come. Look at art from 2017 and look at your art now. Do studies on parts you feel weak in. Prioritize self discipline over motivation (draw when you don’t feel like drawing, tho btw prioritize self care the most if certain times it’s too detrimental to do so)
Don’t think too hard about likes and reblogs. It’s hard, but I feel like I’ve improved a lot from trying to be better about this... oh yeah, I should probs focus on backgrounds more too ( ´∀｀)

•To be honest, shading will always be the death of me. I love coloring and line art is... eh, but I cannot shade and just guess TvT

•The part I’ve had the hardest time mastering is patience 
I know I’m not going to get better overnight and I need to practice if I want to work up to more difficult art, but I get so impatient sometimes and just want to be able to draw all the complicated stuff now!!!

•Anatomy and perspective, especially when you want to do these awesome pieces but you just can’t figure out how to do them lol.
And it doesn’t make it hard to master but it makes art difficult sometimes; laying down the flat colors. I just don’t find it enjoyable sometimes and having a piece with nice lineart that you wanna finish but then coloring makes you so demotivated that you never finish it. Also shading in the same situation, sometimes I just don’t feel like it does a piece justice lol.

•Perspective of specifically hands and feet if that makes any sense. Sometimes hands are fun to draw but sometimes it’s a pain because of perspective

Getting the wrong advice from the wrong people. Battling too much with your mental state. There are actual techniques that do work in making you understand color, form, composition. The only way I finally understood was when I was taught digitally with other artists. Not teachers, not online forums of what you should and should not do.

More seriously (even if it might not be untrue), I think patience or taking a step back would be some answers. Concerning fundamentals I think it is a bit easier because it is more about repetition, understanding a subject and getting feedback; than analyzing your own behaviors, what influence them and how to change them.

For me, it’s learning a new medium. My marker and ink drawings are good but my chalk pastel and acrylic stuff look like a third grader made it

•Art is so subjective, you can do something you are very proud of and just one feedback can break all the self confidence you had about your work. It takes time to be confident, follow your style and appreciate the journey

I think the most difficult part for me is starting a drawing I’m looking forward to doing and not being satisfied with the sketch! It’s quite depleting when I’ve been wanting to draw this particular thing, but having a hard time the first time round.
Sometimes it takes a bit of a push to get me to start again - but it’s all part of the process! :)

I think the hardest thing is staying motivated even if you love what you do. Motivated to practice and learn even if you're proud of your work. Especially when you get very little feedback
