Day 3 - “We, the Alphas”It takes two to start a pack. The “Alpha” wolves are simply the parents—the breeding pair. The misconception that wolves follow a strict hierarchy is a myth that still runs strong to this day. But this sticky hierarchical system just doesn’t apply to wild wolf packs. Wolf packs are families of mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and sometimes extended family. There are certainly more dominant animals in a world pack, but a ranking system implies that they’re constantly competing for top-dog, which just isn’t true for wild wolves.Jun 10, 2021
