I'm back with a cliché; Confederación Argentina and roses. This time portraying his death during the Argentine Civil War.----Context:
During Rosas' administration, between 1828 and 1835, a conflict arose among confederates. Considering Buenos Aires (Argentina's current capital city) was so far a separate country, this novel dispute dealt with the dilemma of whether including Buenos Aires to the Confederation or not.
On the one hand, Buenos Aires' port would be highly beneficial to the country's economy since it would enable the Confederation's transatlantic commercial ties with many countries, namely England and France. On the other hand, including Buenos Aires to the territory would imply acquiescing to this province's desire: having absolute power over the other provinces.
In the light of that conflict, there were two stands: federalism, spurning Buenos Aires' inclusion to the country; and unitarism, supporting it. The president of the Argentine Confederation, Rosas, claimed to be a federalist. However, his demeanor revealed quite the opposite, which caused many federalists to depise his administration. Not only were unitarians against Rosas, but now many federalists didn't support him either.
The whole tension led to a Civil War between unitarians, rosist federalists, and federalists dissapproving of Rosas. One person belonging to the latter group was Urquiza, who finally defeated Rosas in the Battle of Caseros during the Civil War.
