mmkay, so. trending. i will share the tidbit i collected today on how it works (via observation)—it is partially a hypothesis/theory, but if you have any other evidence, please share!
it seems like your post will initially start near the top of trending right out the gate, but it gets suppressed/pushed down the list over time. I would assume this is language/region based, but i think the reason a post goes to and stays at the top of trending has to do with CONSTANT interactions. so, to explain, my theory is that when you post your art, let’s say you got 5 likes immediately, meanwhile this other post that was already posted got 6 MORE likes since the time you posted yours. the one that got 6 more would be above yours in trending because it is still relevant and the system sees that it has gained more interactions than your post since the time you posted.Apr 28, 2021
