Wip: lighting critique?
Basically in this piece I want to have overhead and somewhat backlighting, not super bright but not dim either. There's also gonna be a subtle rim light on the left, but that is secondary. Right now I'm hoping to refine the overhead lighting. I guess to visualize it, its like there's a lightbulb at the top of the stairs and it is what it illuminating the figure.Any critique and advice for lighting is greatly appreciated.Jan 9, 2021

this is really good! you seem to understood lighting really well- i would recommend maybe even going darker with your values, and even lighter. where there is direct light, make it really bright! and do the opposite for shadows! also i would maybe shade the stairs, depending on the look you’re going for and where exactly the lighting is coming from! but yeah hopefully this helped- i’m no professional in any way but yeah it looks really good so far !!! :D
