Jovian is a middle aged (around 45 years old) elf who is wandering the world together with his „horse“, doing odd jobs, hunting monsters for money, etc. He is doing that ever since he got divorced to his wife 15 years ago. Luck is not really on his side, he always runs into trouble even if he tries everything to avoid it.
He set out on a journey searching for adventure and glory when he just became an adult. He came upon a small town and fell in love with the daughter of its ruler, but they couldn't be together since her father already arranged a marriage. The town got attacked by a dragon shortly after, Jovian was there with the town guards to try to kill it. He succeeded, but only with a ton of luck and the help of the guards. He took the credit to himself, overflowing with pride and feeling unstoppable. He took some of the bones of the dragon and let them be integrated into a sword, which he called "Fate".The ruler of the town died during the attack, so Jovian married his love and became the newruler of the town. However all the power and pride became his downfall. His wife didn't love him anymore after a few years, he interacted and made deals with the wrong people and soon the town got overrun by people far more greedy and ruthless than any dragon. The town got destroyed completely, most of its citizens murdered, Jovian was one of the few survivors and it was all his fault. His wife left him and he realised on that day all of his mistakes. He left, taking only his sword with him, becoming a vagabond. He wanted to change and leave his past behind, however luck wasnt on his side. It almost seemed like he got cursed to never rest and have bad things happening wherever he showed up and tried to stay. He always wanders since then, his only companion a horse. His sword decayed over the years, but he still kept it as a reminder to never repeat his mistakes.
