We are learning about drawing 3 dimensional coordinate sytems on paper and it makes me feel...itchy. dear lord it dosn't even succeed in being visually accurate in the slightest while also being shit at giving you usefull information.
I feel extra...itchy when we have to draw boxes in them, demonic boxes that aren't supposed to look like that, drawn with exact parallel lines everywhere, boxes don't look like that in reality PERPECTIVE LINES AREN'T PARALLEL TO EACH OTHER DEAR LORD I DON'T WANNA DEAL WITH THAT ABOMINATION ANYMORE. JUST DRAW TWO COORDINATE SYTEMS WITH X AND Y AND Y AND Z AXIS AT LEAST THAN YOU CAN DISPLAY USEFUL INFORMATION.
Ah if as an artist you didn't know, if you draw a box slightly facing away from you don't draw the lines that are leading to the horizon parallel to each other use one point perspective lines and draw the box like that, once I have become aware of how boxes are supposed to look like as an artist, those weird ones that are seemingly perfect but don't adhere to reality make me feel ....itchy.Jun 4, 2022

Well that view gives you more math information than a realistic one. By making the lines pararell without perspective you know when two lines are the same length of what proportion they have. That's something that perspective ruin, so in a math point of brie it's definitely more useful

•I 100% get that!! I also wanna draw more "accurate" boxes cuz they're more dynamic
BUT there is an entire "genre" of artworks using that perspective-less perspective (it's called isometry) and I also love art like that! So now I need to fight the urge turn all boxes into little environments
