For one I would say I see the pillars being problematic as they draw attention away from the subject you want to frame. Secondly the background is a bit too cluttered to keep the eye on the subject as in "I don't know where to look first".
You can stil go wide but perhaps try a tighter framing and or a more neutral background. All in all its still a good attempt. :)
