Day 01 - Sock-o'-lantern
Prompt: Your Dainty carving a personalised pumpkin!
Pairing: Quinn x Reader
Word count: 994
~~
You've just arrived at your girlfriend's house, right on time to hang out with her and do some in-season activities. What exactly is a mystery to you since she was in charge of planning, wanting it to be a surprise. You ring the doorbell and hear the familiar click of her hooves as she approaches, greeting her happily when she opens the door. She smiles and leads the way to her kitchen, the apparent scene of your first Halloween time activity.
"So, can you guess what we're going to be getting up to?" She asks in a sing-song voice, tapping a finger on her chin in mock thought. Looking around, you notice something on the counter. It's a sheet covering a rather large lump of a shape.
"Well Quinn, I assume it has something to do with that?" you ask while pointing to the suspicious setup.
"Ahh, whatever would I do without your brilliant powers of observation?" She walks over to the bench and grabs a corner of the sheet, "now it is time for you to see what we've got hidden under here!"
With a flourish, she removes it to reveal two well-sized pumpkins & some carving tools. You look to her in surprise. It wasn't what you had been expecting, never the less you also weren't complaining. It might have been quite a few years since you had last carved a pumpkin, but you were more than ready for the challenge. You smile at her and move to stand next to her, looking over the pair of pumpkins. "You chose a decent looking pair. We should be able to make some great jack-o-lanterns out of these."
"Of course! Nothing less than the best for me & my partner after all." She seems to be growing more enthusiastic with your approval of her choice.
"Do you have any ideas about what you're going to be carving on yours?" You ask, noticing her pull out her phone & open Google.
"Of course I do, love. It would be rather silly to orchestrate this whole event without any ideas. I want to carve it to look like Mr Jack Skellington himself." She shows you the reference pulled up on her phone. You nod & start trying to think of ideas while she grabs a knife from its rack.
"While you think, perhaps we should start hollowing these out hmm?"
You take the knife she handed to you & reach to flip your pumpkin over. Upon seeing her curious expression, you decide to explain.
"In my experience, it's better to carve them out from the bottom. That way, it both looks nicer & it is safer because you'll have the candle on your porch. Rather than risking setting the inside of the pumpkin on fire."
She gives you a critical look, likely trying to judge whether this is a joke on your part. You offer her your sincerest smile, seeing as you are telling the truth. She seems to accept this & follows your lead. The pair of you get to work cutting through the tough outer layer of skin & then scooping out the insides, placing them in a tray for later use. During this, you feel like you've thought up the perfect idea of what to carve. You just hope you can pull it off since you are a little rusty.
With the menial part out of the way now it's time to have some fun & get to making your pumpkins look good. You see Quinn pull her reference back up & get to work drawing herself a template. Feeling like surprising your girlfriend back, you angle yourself so that she shouldn't be able to see you while you're working. She quirks her brow at this and playfully shakes her head, allowing you your privacy. You quickly get to work drawing your own template & then reach for the carving tools once you're ready. The kitchen is mainly filled with a companionable silence as the pair of you get to work. Every so often you have to fend her off from sneaking peeks at your work while she cracks jokes about not being able to handle the suspense.
Eventually, you're both finished. You take a step back to admire your handiwork, it came out better than you had expected much to your pleasure.
"Okay okay, we're both done. Now can I please see it? I've just been dying of curiosity over here. I'm desperate to see the work my brilliant partner has been doing in such secrecy."
You affectionately roll your eyes at your girlfriend's dramatics, more than used to her. Instead of answering you grab your pumpkin and spin it around for her to see, feeling nervous about her reaction. It takes her a moment to process what she's seeing before she makes a rather loud chirp and starts to laugh.
"Oh my gosh love, I can't believe you'd do that. Scratch that I most definitely can believe it but still." You tell from the way she brings a hand to her face that she must be blushing, "I didn't know my stockings would be that big of a source of inspiration for you. I did find it curious that you kept sneaking glances my way while working but I figured you were just that enamoured by my charms."
You suddenly find yourself with arms full of Quinn as she gives you a tight hug. Drawing back, she kisses your cheek. "In all seriousness, it looks great & I more than proud to display it on my porch for the season."
You kiss her in return and look towards her own carving. "Yours looks great too. Even though I already knew your plans, I would have been able to recognise it right away. I never knew you had such talent for carving pumpkins." You tell her. With your jack-o-lanterns now ready to be displayed, you set them up outside her front door.

Day 02 - Fall Food
Prompt: Your Dainty eating their favourite autumn dish or their Halloween candy haul!
Pairing: Quinn x Reader
Word count: 568
~~
It is an early evening of a chilly Autumn night. You're right where it's best on a night like this, snuggled on the couch with your girlfriend. You both decide that you wanted to have a quiet date night at your apartment. It has been a few hours since she had come over and, in that time, you'd been enjoying each other’s company. Playing board games, watching some movies, ordering some of your favourite take-away for dinner. The show you were watching had finished, and you know this is the perfect time to bring out your surprise. You know that your girlfriend has quite a sweet tooth, so you had decided to try and make dessert for the pair of you to enjoy.
"Hey, Quinn?" She looks over at you with a curious expression. "Could I perhaps interest you in something sweet to eat?"
You can see that this has caught her attention; if the smile and alertness of her ears are any indications.
"You know I'm always down for a little treat, love. But I didn't think you had anything around? At least that's what you told me earlier." She looks suspiciously at you, gently poking your closest shoulder. "Unless you were lying to throw me off the scent of course, always a smart move if you want anything sweet to last longer than a few minutes."
You hold your hands up in mock protest, giving her a warm and gentle smile. "Of course, I had to create a diversion, I know what you're like." You playfully wag your finger at her. "Wait here a second, and I'll go and get your surprise."
She raises her eyebrow at you before huffing and collapsing back onto the couch. She makes a shooing motion to indicate that you should hurry up then. Freeing yourself from the blankets, you make your way into the kitchen. You head over to where you had stashed the treats away. Feeling the anticipation and slight nerves of having your girlfriend judging your baking. With treats in hand, you return to Quinn. You place the platter on the coffee table and motion her to take one.
"I do hope you like them. I don't bake all that often you know." Seeing Quinn grab a cookie you continue, "they're caramel apple cider cookies, which I remember you telling me where your favourite."
She looks at you with a smile on her face, the corners of her eyes softening. She carefully pulls you to sit down next to her before taking a bite. You're watching her expression for any signs of her thoughts so closely you didn't see her arms coming to pull you into a hug. Recovering from the shock, you relax into her embrace; knowing that this was a sign of approval. Once she finishes her mouthful, she draws back and gives you a chaste kiss.
"These are so delicious, love. They taste even better than the ones I had when I was younger! You have to give me the recipe you used because I want to make these for myself."
You agree to give it to her, texting her the link to ensure you didn't forget. With the dessert brought out and your girlfriend's approval gained it, was time to continue as you had been. You snuggled back down next to her and picked out the next movie you were going to watch.

Day 03 - Couple Costume
Prompt: Couple Costume, partner optional!
Pairing: Quinn x Reader

~~
You were at a cafe, meeting for drinks during her study break when the topic came up.
"So, what should we go as for Halloween this year love?" She asked you, taking another bite of her snack. You shrugged, not having thought much on the topic.
"I know it's not even half-way through September yet. There's no need to give me that look. It's just that it's essential to get the ball rolling early; especially if we wanted to do something more elaborate."
You can't help but smile at her plea to you. So, you promise that you'll think on the topic; this placates her and allows you to move onto other discussions.
Quinn managed to last a week before bringing it up again. This time you were walking her home from classes.
"Have you been thinking about Halloween then?" She inquires, directing her full attention to you.
You nod hesitantly. You had thought up and then discarded several ideas, finding each of them unsuitable for different reasons. You tell Quinn this, she looks disappointed. You apologise to her, but she waves it off.
"It's no problem, love. I haven't had any ideas that stick out to me as good yet either." You descend into silence while you wait to cross. "Oh, actually I just had a fun thought!"
"What is it?"
"Well, what if we did some Nightmare Before Christmas themed costumes? There's plenty of fun characters and designs in it some I'm sure we could find something to suit our needs."
You take a moment to consider before grinning & nodding your agreement. Seeing this, she first pumps & lets out a joyful chirp.
"Good, I'm glad we've started to get this thing sorted out. Now we only need to decide who we want to go as."
The rest of the way to her apartment, you're deep in discussion. You list the pros and cons of each pair of characters, ending up torn between two. You aren't sure if you want to go as Jack & Sally, overdone but still fun, or Pumpkin Jack & Jack, an unusual choice that might turn heads. Either way, you're going to need a Jack costume.
It was a few days after your revelation. You were at home when you received a text from Quinn; it was a link to a Pumpkin King Jack costume.
"This was the main sticking point right...?"
You were starting to feel excited about this because she was right. The worry about lack of costumes was the main reason you were shying away from going the double Jack route. You texted her affirmative and opened the site to take a better look. It seems you were in luck. They had stock in one of your sizes currently available, from the looks of things it seems that Quinn was going to get the honour of being king this year. You searched and found that they were also carrying a regular Jack costume in your size. You text her to see if she's placed an order yet, or if she was waiting.
"I was waiting to see if you were all good with it. Want me to add you a Jack costume? Minimal shipping costs and all the rot."
"Yes, please!"
Halloween night had finally arrived, it was time to don your costumes and gather as much candy as possible. The costumes had arrived well beforehand, leaving you plenty of time to ensure that they were looking good. This would be the first time you had seen each other in costume, having wanted it to be a surprise. You were in her living room, waiting for her to finish changing. When you finally saw her, you couldn't help but laugh. Upon seeing you breaking down into laughter, she crossed her arms and dramatically stopped her hoof. It seems like the pumpkin head had been a touch too small and squashed her ears; her solution was to cut holes into the sides for her ears to escape through.
"I'm sorry, it's not that funny looking. I really just didn't expect it is all." You got up and gave her a hug. "You look great Quinn."
She seems to have accepted your apology and taken your laughter in good grace. She stepped back from you and motioned you to twirl, to which you complied.
"Suits really do look great on anyone hmm?" She tilted her head as if in thought, "But especially great on you, love."
You couldn't see her face, but you knew she was wagging her eyebrows. With costumes on and appropriately inspected it was time for you to grab your candy bags and head off into the night.

Day 04 - Autumn Activities (with a Horror Twist)
Prompt: Autumn Activities (with a Horror Twist) Uncover a skeleton while blowing the leaves, trip into a summoning circle on a stroll...

Knowing your girlfriend, you're immediately suspicious when she asks if you want to visit a corn maze with her. It's only after managing to extract the promise that it's just a nice night out and not an attempt at total mayhem that you agree to go. Sometimes you're (still) not entirely sure why you're dating a minorly unhinged vampire dainty.
It isn't until you arrive on-site you realise that perhaps you should have tried to wrangle her into agreeing to go during the daytime. She's always more subdued then. From the sparkle in her eye, you suspect she has an idea what you're thinking.
"I promised, didn't I dear?" She raised a brow then pouted. Sensing your hesitation, she takes your hand. "If I stick with you, then how can I cause any trouble?"
Feeling only slightly reassured you realise it's too late to do anything, you might as well commit to trying to have a good time with Yew. She practically drags you over to the maze entrance, her wings flapping in her excitement.
You've both been wandering around for a while, quietly chatting, when you reach a fork in the maze. You can't seem to agree which way you'll go so she suggests that you split up. This set off all of your alarm bells. She must have seen it written in your face because she attempts to reassure you.
"It will be fine, dear." She smiles and cups your face, "Besides, what's the worst that could happen? I mean, it's just a corn maze."
You try and read the sincerity in her expression before giving up, knowing that you're not too good at reading anything other than what she wanted. Despite the alarm bells still ringing you agreed, albeit reluctantly. Before taking off, Yew kisses your cheek "For good luck."
Knowing that there isn't much to be done now that she's out of your sight, you continue trying to solve the maze. So much for a fun activity with your girlfriend. Your aimless wandering has been going on for a while before you hear something that makes you let out a groan. That was a scream, coming from the vague direction you had last seen Yew. Why had you thought it would be a good idea to let a vampire loos in a corn maze again? You know that you're pretty much the only person that will be able to curb her mischief so, you take off running in what you think is the right direction. It isn't long before you hear another scream, this time much closer to your current location.
"Yudella? That better not be because of you!" you shout into the night sky. Only moments later someone appears from around a corner, clearly looking to be in a panic. They're saying something about there being a 'bloody vampire' out in the maze. You're hoping that was just a swear and not a physical descriptor. Knowing that at least you're on the right track, you push onwards. Attempting to navigate your way based on the occasional screams of terrified maze-goers. It's been at least 10 minutes since you last heard any noise other than the rustling of corn when you think you see something out of the corner of your eye. It flashed by too fast to get a good look, but you're positive you saw pink, it must have been Yew. Just when you're about to start moving off again, there's a scream right behind you. Whirling around you're met with the grinning face of Yudella.
"Yew! What the heck?" Taking a closer look, you notice something red on her face. "That better not be blood Yew! Your promised you wouldn't cause any mayhem tonight."
She at least had the decency to look sheepish, her ears and wings dropping. The illusion was ruined by the smile twitching at the corners of her mouth.
"Oh, dear. Does it help any that it's not real blood?" She paused to grab something out of her bag, "It's not any kind of blood actually. It's just ketchup. Does well enough in these, low lighting conditions."
She shows you the packets and napkin she'd grabbed. She can't quite meet your eye despite this fact.
"I didn't mean to upset you, my dearest. That I can promise with the fullest sincerity. I hope I haven't ruined the night entirely either?"
Despite your frustration that she had been about causing trouble you weren't all too mad at her, this behaviour was to be expected.
"No one got hurt, right?" Yew shook her head. Sighing, you offered her your hand once more. "I suppose that's the important thing here. Considering I know what you're like at your worst."
She smiled and leaned against you, intertwining her hand with yours. Despite the unexpected horror twist others got to their maze trip, your night wasn't turning out all too bad. Yew made sure to stick close to your side for the rest of your journey through the maze, offering you plenty of nuzzles. Her way of trying to make up for her earlier actions. Eventually, you reached the end of the maze. A fact you were both glad off as it was getting late, and you needed some sleep.
"All in all, that was a pretty good night, wasn't it dear?"
Despite it all, you couldn't help but nod. Giving Yew a soft smile.
"Besides, it was pretty funny. You can't deny that dear."

Day 05 - Treat or Treat

Yew had announced that she as going to the supermarket to buy candy for Halloween. This, understandably, had you worried. So, you volunteered to go wither her. Otherwise, who knows what she would get. Likely something to ruthlessly prank anyone who dared come to her door. Once you arrived at the supermarket, she made a b-line for the candy aisle. Yew's not one to waste any time before picking out treats. You hurried to catch up, remembering to grab a basket so that you could actually carry your groceries. When you got to the aisle, you found her determinedly scanning the shelves. It seems like she was on a mission.
"What are you looking for Yew?"
"Oh, nothing in particular. I'm just taking a good look to ensure I only buy the best." She looked at you seriously, "I wouldn't want to be known as a terrible house to trick-or-treat at. I do have a reputation to maintain, you know?"
"That's exactly what I'm worried about." You mutter.
She just huffed and returned to her searching. Deciding that it should be safe enough to browse another part of the aisle you move off. You wanted to see if there was anything around that you'd like for yourself. You spotted the Halloween themed candy section and couldn't help yourself, there's always something fun to be seen there. One of the first things to catch your attention was a bag of eye-shaped gummies, it looked to be a decent purchase. You added it to your basket and continued to browse. You end up adding a few more things before you spot Yew. She was rifling around the shelves and making quite the mess. Feeling sympathy for the employees and knowing you came here to coral her, you walk back over.
Yew shoots you a smile when she notices your approach. She takes a cursory look in your basket and gives you an amused look.
"It looks like you found some things of interest, dear." She reaches in and grabs the eye candies. "Oh, these are fun. Do you mind grabbing me a packet please, dearest?"
"Sure thing. Just, can you please try not to make such a mess of the shelves? Someone has to clean that up, you know."
"Not to fear dear, I'll put it all to rights once I'm done looking. I promise."
You send her a doubtful look but walk back to grab the requested item. You couldn't have looked away for more than a minute when you heard Yew curse. A known bad sign from past experience. You drop the packet into your basket and rush back over.
Seeing the worry on your face, she smiles and reaches to give your free hand a squeeze.
"It's nothing, dear. I just can't seem to find what I'm after is all."
"I thought you weren't after anything in particular?" You can't help but frown. She waves a hand dismissively.
"I figured it out while you were over there browsing." She looked disdainfully at the shelves, "and they don't have it. Come on I want to check out another shop before it gets too late."
Before Yew could head off, you remind her to clean up her mess. She did so reluctantly, pouting at you the entire time.
Once you had paid, you did indeed head off to another shop. And another. And one more after that. In fact, it wasn't until the 5th shop you tried that Yew seemed satisfied. Yew had refused to tell you what exactly it was that she was after, much to your displeasure. You figure you could have helped her out if only Yew wasn't so secretive. Luckily for you, she had found what she wanted. Finally. You were relieved that the intendedly brief shopping trip had now come to an end. Yew was doing a victory dance in the parking lot, proudly holding her bags in the air.
"I suppose I can tell you what I was after now that I have it." She trotted over to where you had been watching from. "Maybe you won't think it was worth the hassle of getting it, but such is life. Right, dear?" Without waiting for a reply, she opened one of the bags with a flourish. Inside wasn't what you had been expecting. Perhaps it was more accurate to say that it was what you had feared but hoped against. "Prank candies?" You pinch the bridge of your nose and sigh.
"Just because they're odd flavours no one in their right mind would eat doesn't make them prank candy."
You give her a flat look, making it very clear this better not be all she had bought.
"Alright, alright. There's no need to fear about my, oddities. I also bought some regular candy. See I needed both because I wanted to set up a little challenge?" Seeing the alarm spreading across your face, she backpedalled. "Perhaps challenge is the wrong word for it. It's more of a game, I suppose? Just let me explain it before you shut it down entirely."
You're more than willing to give her that chance, knowing that if she ran the idea by you and, knowing the full plan, you still disagreed she would listen. You nod.
"Brilliant! Thank you, dear." She gives you a quick kiss. "So, my plan is to have 2 bowls. One with some cheap regular candy and one with my, more specialty candy. When trick-or-treaters ring, I'll give them a choice: either take something from the normal bowl or risk it and take something from the strange bowl. Those who are brave enough to live a little will get an extra surprise! Their choice of proper fun-sized treat from the secret stash." You take a moment to think over her plan. You'll want to go over her prank candy and make sure there isn't anything too bad. Other than that, you feel like you can agree. There's no harm in having some fun on Halloween after all, especially since they'll know what they're getting into. You tell Yew this and can't help but adore the spark in her eyes. She's obviously thrilled that you agreed to her plans & seems very excited to start setting it all up. Never mind that Halloween wasn't for another 2 weeks. Yew would be getting her fun.Apr 16, 2021

Pairing: Yudella x Reader

Prompt: Your Dainty's on door duty, what goodies would they give?
Pairing: Yudella x Reader
