I feel like I never comment enough on others posts, and, like, I want to but I never know what to say. Idk why I struggle with this because it’s not hard to say you like something but at the same time it is? I dunno it’s the same vibe as telling a stranger that you like their outfit - it feels invasive idk, like I’m bothering them or trying too hard. Does anyone else struggle with this?Feb 6, 2023

No, but that’s only because I do it so much, I usually know what to say!
With art, I’ll either say the first (nice) thing I think of when looking at the piece (“Oh wow! This is amazing!” or “So cute!”) or I’ll specify what I like about it (“The colors in this are beautiful!” or “I love the textures in this & how you drew __!”)
I think most people like receiving compliments, no matter if it’s their art or an the outfit they’re wearing like you said. I know it makes my day when someone says something nice about my art (& when people compliment usually a particular accessory I’m wearing), so I often try to do the same!

Yes!! I struggle to put words together sometimes. I want to make a detailed comment bc I feel bad just saying something like "I love this!" Or "this looks so awesome!" > < I say that a lot

I've struggled with this too! I like to think up an interesting adjective that describes something I like about the piece, like lovely, wholesome, vibrant ect. I think it keeps it simple but feels a bit more personal. Though I think a simple "Love it!" Is very nice too, it shows the creator support for their work and is a nice thought

I always feel that i don’t have any constructive to say- like i know what I want to say but when I write i just and up saying the same thing i said 30 time

•For sure, i feel so awkward commenting on an art post, which is why i prefer commenting on text posts. Probably because there's a clear topic to talk about instead of saying 'I love your art' which ends up feeling kind of empty, vs going in on everything you like which feels out of place at times
