[NADENA AND HER DARLING]
(The story for the post before this! Slight gore at the end and yes it gets sad I'm so sorry)
Sharp teeth gleamed in dim light, laughter all around as Nadena as she walked around the royals ballroom. She was surrounded by people of high rank, some even wearing things she had designed for them. It made her heart sing in her chest. She waved to the man that had come up to her, tail flicking behind her as she walked away. The dimness of the ballroom made it hard for Nadena to see, then her eyes caught what she was looking for! The friend she came here with was in the corner, eating all by herself.
Now that just wouldn't do, her best friend didn't deserve to be alone tonight. So like any good best friend she decided to go up to her friend. Nadena walked her way and wrapped an arm around her friend's waist. “I saw that you seemed lonely darling! Why are you here all alone?” Nadena hissed happily as she leaned down to her shorter friend.
Nadena couldn't see the blush in the dim light or hear the light sputtering under the darling's breath, all too entrapped by how amazing she had looked tonight. Little thanks to her darling's fashion, Nadena had helped her get ready for the occasion. Nadena was snapped back into reality as she felt her friend lean against her and laugh. Nadena looked down at her and tilted her head.
“What's so funny?” Nadena asked
“Nothing ‘Dena, thank you but I'm not lonely, I was just about to join you.” Darling said, looking up at her, green eyes shining in the dim light. Nadena tried to ignore the blush going to her face as she beamed down at her best friend. She nodded and looked around, she could here a new song start to echo through the large room. She grinned and started to drag her best friend to the dance floor.
Nadena paid no mind to the yelp she had heard from her friend as she dragged her out to dance. Her arm quickly wrapping around her darling's waist, the giggle she heard only made her blush wrose. And she hoped to the gods it wasn't noticeable. Though her friend has always been very perceptive, especially when it came to her.
Their feet moved with the music, twirling one another around to the music as the songs flew by with the time that passed. Their laughter mixed with one another as they danced the night away in one another's arms. Soon her friend had dragged her back to the sidelines to go get food and recharge. Picking up some small snacks for herself and Nadena they made their way to the corner with a shared plate.
Nadeana hummed as she felt the tap on her shoulder, looking down she saw her darling holding food up to her. She grinned and opened her mouth, taking the small piece of food from her darlings hand. She hummed happily only to stall in her spot, something tasted off, something was metallic in her food and tasted so familiar to her. She realized she had just tasted blood, she looked back at her darlings finger, it was bleeding.
She was cemented to her spit as her vision started to grow hazy and red. She hadn't tasted human blood in so long that she forgot how amazing it had tasted. She needed to get out of here, now! Before she did something she would regret later. Nadena coughed a bit and went out, rushing as much as she could. Long legs taking strides for the garden doors, then dashing out. She tried to ignore darlings call for her, and the click of heels on stone paths.
Nadena was stumbling now, she had made it to the rose, that glittered like gems in the moonlight. She had almost forgotten that they glowed ever so slightly at night. She slid onto the floor and leaned against a bench, looking up at the stars and the full moon above her. Her breaths began to even as she tried counting the stars, something she did a lot, but always failed at. The city of Solite had always been beautiful at night.
She snapped from her counting as she smelled it. The fresh blood. And she zeroed in on it. Darling was infront of her now. Leaning down on her knees and cupping her face with a worried expression. Nadena could feel the blood on the side of her lips, her forked tongue licked it up before she even processed what was happening. Her vision had gone red once again, hazy and her ears had deafened to her darlings voice as she screamed.
The scream had echoed right back to the ballroom through open double doors, echoing up into the stars and the moon that watched down on the sight below. Blood pooled onto the stepping stones and splattered onto the bench that hadn't been used. Nadena peered right into her green eyes as red fangs gleamed under moonlight. Her darling was still, lifeless. She didn't register what she did until she heard a terrified scream. She snapped her head up and saw a noblewoman and her husband, staring at her in horror.
She stared up at them in horror as tears pooled in her eyes and fell down to the stone path, mixing with the already drying blood. She looked down to see the remains of her darling, she sunk down as she heard the clinking of metal armor. She let out a mournful scream, despair filled her voice as she hugged the bloody body she was soon dragged from by a pair of guards.Feb 19, 2022
