I get my commissions from specific niche art forums. I've entered into a couple contracts with webtoon authors from the tapas forum, one of which was paid. My other commissions come from connections and networking. I don't have a large Instagram or artfol presence, and I've also never stated that my commissions were open or provided a sheet, so I'm sure I'd have different advice if I was looking for work, but maybe my experience is still useful to know. Anyways, I'm in two long-term contracts--one for drawing someone's webtoom and the other for designing characters and drawing backgrounds for 2D and 3D animation.

•For my Etsy shop, advertising on Instagram has been the most successful, outside of the orders I get from people who find me directly through etsy's marketplace/search engine.

•I haven't gotten commissioned by anyone on here but my commissions aren't officially open anyway. I've had people from here buy stuff from my Etsy though. my average amount of commissions per month is zero lol but I got commissioned twice last month and am about to get commissioned again, all by the same person who found my on Depop, kinda just happened by chance! I've mostly gotten commissioned by family and friends of family, but one time someone on Twitter commissioned me.

•I just put my commission link in my profile and I've gotten a few commissions here. The more you post and talk to people here, the more people click your profile, and the more they get to see your commissions.
My main social media for commission work is DeviantArt. I get around 5-10 commissions per month + adoptable sales and YCH sales. Some months I get more, for example in December when people buy commissions as gifts for people.

i’ve been on a kind of hiatus for commissions for a while now so i dont have a monthly average i can share, but just thinking about this time and the last time ive opened them id say at least five?
to be fair i underprice my work though; if i priced more fairly id probably get none
