Sometimes I'm always think, that, furries are uh (I'm so sorry ples don't hurt me) disgusting and cringe (those boops, cuddle, hug jokes kind of scare me) (oh god I'm not ready for compliments) even tho I'd like to draw em, but that doesn't mean I one of them. It sounds like you’re not a fan of the “roleplay” type of furries, (I don’t really know what else to call what you’ve described!) not just us as a whole. And that’s perfectly fine! Not everyone’s okay with the affectionate & (possibly over) friendliness that some purposefully act like! I can totally see how that’s off-putting!
Calling yourself a furry is a choice. Tons of people enjoy drawing anthro animals but do not want to be called furries, because they just aren’t! It’s nothing new! Some might try to call you that, & you’ve just gotta correct them sometimes.
Not all furries are as you’ve described, just a number of us are like that (I’m not!) And you’re not hurting anyone by letting people know you’re not cool with that kind of stuff, although “disgusting” seems a bit harsh. Please don’t call yourself dumb! You’re fine! So go & have fun drawing those anthro critters!
