Novemburton 25 Week 1: Beyond the Grave in Autumn

I'm really excited to announce that I'm participating in another year of Novemburton art challenge since my first time in 2023. As a Tim Burton enthusiasts, I'm honoured to take part in this challenge to devote my appreciation towards my favourite Burton's media and to continue drawing more spooky and gothic art to keep the Halloween spirit alive since Inktober wrapped up for me last month ️

Originally, when I first saw the first week prompt, I had the cemetery from Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice in mind, and second was Lydia Deetz and Wednesday chilling at a gravestone. However, I decided to draw Victor Frankenstein and Elsa Van Helsing with their pet dogs, Sparky and Persephone, embracing each other in front of Sparky's tombstone. Frankenweenie is one of my most favourite stop-motion animated films that I always find comfort in That prompt was a perfect excuse for me to finally draw Victor and Elsa somewhat together, which I've always wanted. I find it's romantically gothic when two goths are chilling at a cemetery. I have always imagined romantic moments between Victor and Elsa. To complement this week's prompt "Beyond the Grave in Autumn," I added autumn touches in the Pet Cemetery The process of working on this illustration was fun. I wanted to capture a mixture of both the cozy vibe with the autumn colours and Tim Burton's gothic vibes with the gloomy touch.
