despite me going above and beyond for Mike specifically i do sometimes feel a bit weird since i consider myself a very. Casual Deltarune Fan despite being a hardcore undertale fan back then. like im definitely more deranged than the average casual fan buttttt im not nearly as invested in the actual game ahaha. which is a shame cuz i DO like deltarune, ig the horrors of the undertale community have done more damage than i initially thought lol???? i just latched onto Mike bc. idk i was in art block and had no current batshit insane hyperfixation and he ended up being my latest victim
regardless though. have another little rant aint nobody give a fuck about
i find it interesting that spamton tenna and mike all have a relationship to trash in some way. or otherwise being outdated/forgotten. (spamton living in the dumpsters. tenna being thrown out in the rain. mikes lightworld counterpart being beside the garbage bin of flowers.)
and their reactions to this all sort of end up defining their motivations and character!!! spamton wants to recreate their glory days using NEO, an unfinished and deleted drawing created by mettaton on the computer. tenna uses nostalgia to get lightners to watch her forever, in fear of being replaced by newer things. mike tries to reach Nowhere with an old cloth (shadow mantle), after determining he Isnt Needed Anymore.
all of them are also outdated pieces of technology. an email, a crt, and a landline. and they also deal with Communication and Connection in a way!!!!! which is awesome considering theyre all the consequences of dogshit communication. spamton who suddenly dipped on them and ended up worse than where neo started due to isolating themselves from genuine friendships and using it all for money and fame. tenna who tries to fix and control others without really understanding whats wrong in the first place and cutting off any meaningful connections. mike who swallowed all of his teeth until he started choking on it and decided everyone would be better off dead instead of like, having a normal conversation about it.
theyre all worse bc they, intentionally and unintentionally, ruined the friendships around them and bc They were shallow, all they got in return were shallow empty and meaningless relationships!!!!!!!! and while tenna is definitely Trying to fix that issue, spamton has a ways to go and dont even get me started on mike he still thinks about killing tenna in its sleep on a regular basisJul 20, 2025
