Question for you all: When you make a humanoid character with animal ears, do you put them on the side of the head (where the human ear would be) or on the top of the head?

If you put them on the top, what happens to the human ear? Is it still there, or gone? (You aren't allowed to chicken out and say "I don't know." I need answers lmao)

I think you can tell my answer to this just by looking at my pfp lol

on the side, but when i do put ears on the top there are no human ears
If the ears are on top of the head, then I don't think it really matters as long as you design the hair in a way that always covers the human ones. That's how I've always seen it anyway lol.
Never two sets of ears, everything else depends on the design itself
I have a lot of kemonomimi characters and I NEVER give them human ears. It's a huge pet peeve of mine that ppl give kemonomimi 2 sets of ears. It doesn't make any damn sense.

As for where I place them, it's according to the aesthetic of the character. Sometimes I can have 2 kemonomimi of the same species with ears on either place. Just what I think looks better on that particular character.
It depends on where actual animal's ears are supposed to be. For example, cat ears go on top of the head. Also I never draw human ears when I draw animal ones. Either one or the other, because two pairs of ears is a little odd😅
Depends on which animal it is. I have a character who is half ox, so his ears are where his human ears would be. Same for my goat and sheep characters. But I also have a character who is half lion who's ears are on top of his head. He doesn't have human ears at all, just the lion ones on top of his head
