A Little Drop Of Rain Won't Hurt Me
Got inspired by the Rising Artists prompt challenge called: A little drop of rain won't hurt me now...Interesting title!
Anyway, this is my entry.
I think it fits the title in a way that is both spiritual as well as physical. Shiik (the male character in the drawing) has the ability to control anything having to do with water and ice. Though he is immune to intense cold, he just didn't feel like getting wet to day, and created a barrier about himself.
But he also is under a curse by an enemy he's never really met, at least not since he was a baby. His right arm was bitten by a demon called a Darkblood, and it's fangs contain a nasty venom that either turns you into a Darkblood or kills you. His teacher, however created a seal on his arm (the tattoo on his shoulder) to prevent the poison from spreading and it acts as a filter for his blood so that blood can still flow while at the same time preventing the poison from spreading to the body. Until they find a cure, it stays. Hence Shiik is always in pain 24/7 but he's learned to deal.
A lot of people have treated him as an outcast, both his race and the humans. Most of the Steorra reject him because he was raised by humans and the humans reject him because he is of the race they raged war against at a time. Years ago he would've cared, but he's learned to deal with this as well.
He believes everyone has a storm in their lives and the rain will come with pain, but you can learn to deal with the pain by accepting it and moving on, hoping that you will find the sun's rays and the light that comes with it.
Sounds a little corny to some, but I think I've made my point. :3Mar 19, 2021
